Zahra Received here B.S in atomic physics from Shahid Beheshti University in Iran and earned her master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She designed and made the first prototype of a soft actuator for soft continuum arms using the bistability of silicone elastomer as her master's thesis. She is working on developing novel optical neural interfaces at the Biosensing and Biorobotics Laboratory.
